Why Healing From Depression Is So Hard!💙
Aug 11, 2024Let's talk about why it's hard to heal from depression. The reason is that depression is a complex illness and the people who try to help us usually only look at one aspect of it. For example, there are people who help you with your thinking patterns because often in depression, they're negative and ruinative. 💙
There's people like therapists who will help you with your feelings and connecting with your feelings because oftentimes we're detached from our feelings and emotions. Doctors will help you maybe with the brain telling you that there's a neurochemical imbalance, maybe give you antidepressants to try to tackle that imbalance. 💙
Other doctors will tell you it's inflammation and it's in the body and that by tackling inflammation, you might be able to improve depression. And then there's your self-belief, whether you think you're not good enough or maybe not lovable and you have low self-esteem and self-confidence, that can be worked on. 💙
So there are many different aspects to depression and all of those aspects need to be worked on if we're going to heal properly from depression and completely from depression. And that's why depression is such a complex illness and why the recovery rates are so low because different people look at and try to help in different ways rather than looking holistically at the whole person and everything that's going on and needs to be healed. 💙
