Depression: Losing Perfectionism! 💙

In depression, we can often be exceptionally hard on ourselves if we don't achieve what we want to achieve. There's often an inbuilt amount of perfectionism in someone who ends up with deep depression. 💙

And the problem is that this is like a catch-22 because we can't reach those standards. They're out of reach because of the exhaustion and the lack of energy we have in depression and the cognitive impairments. 💙

We kind of think we're not going to do a bad job. We're not going to do it at all. If we can't reach those levels and therefore we end up doing nothing and then we have self -blaming recrimination because we haven't done anything. 💙

It's a very vicious circle and one way to break out of that circle is to accept that in certain circumstances it's okay to do half a job. Half a job is better than no job. 💙
